How to apply for a remote fingerprint background check
Step 1
Please have your fingerprints taken on paper by a local police department or an authorized agency in your country or locality. (You can download the form at the bottom of this page and give it to your police department or agency).
Send your fingerprints by post to
ACCESS IDentity 4715, avenue des Replats, Local 195, Québec, Québec, Canada, G2J 1B8
Please avoid folding the sheet containing your fingerprints. A fold in the paper could damage the fingerprints and force you to repeat the procedure.
Upon receipt of your fingerprints, we will send you an invoice by e-mail, payable online. The request will be processed as soon as we receive payment, which can be made online. Receipt of the document will take between one and three weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions
I just arrived in Canada or I used to reside in Canada; can I still obtain my certificate?
You must have a current address and/or a delivery address in Canada, as we only issue certificates within Canada by mail. Please refer to our International Fingerprinting Service for requests from abroad.
Should I request a Police Certificate or a Fingerprint-based background check?
Unlike a fingerprint-based background check, a Police Certificate can be processed using only the applicant’s name and date of birth. The purpose of this certificate is to provide proof that there are no criminal records associated with your name.
If you have offenses on your record, they will not appear on this certificate. We strongly recommend choosing the Fingerprinting Service, as it is the only way to obtain the actual contents of a criminal file. Furthermore, fingerprint-based certificates are issued by the RCMP and are the only version recognized internationally.

How long will it take to obtain my pardon?
The entire process can take between 8 and 15 months, depending on the applicant’s specific situation. The full timeline and steps will be explained to you during your initial consultation.
How long is it valid for?
A U.S. Entry Waiver (I-192) allows you to travel to the United States with peace of mind, despite having one or more criminal records. It is important to note that even a simple layover on U.S. soil can lead to being denied entry if a criminal record is present.
However, certain offenses—such as impaired driving (DUI)—are generally not sufficient grounds on their own to justify an entry ban.
